Michelle M. Gomez, MBA is an Executive Career Coach with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a master’s degree in Business Administration. She has over 20 years of experience learning, navigating, and overcoming obstacles that plague women in the corporate structure. Gomez is passionate about helping Latinas achieve positions of power and influence through effective career planning, personal advocacy, and advancing more women of color in an effort to close the gender wage gap. Through internal mindset work of overcoming things like impostor syndrome, feelings of inadequacy, being ‘the first’ to take on a particular goal and trying to build a life and career design that is beneficial for the client, Gomez uses her expertise in executive presence, professional dossier writing, personal branding, leadership quality, and negotiation methods to empower Latinas toward their personal and professional goals.
In addition to her private coaching practice, Gomez is also the author of the international best-seller, Own Your Brilliance: Overcome Impostor Syndrome for Career Success, available on Amazon and Kindle. She’s also spoken at many employment forums, women empowerment summits, and in the academic space - most notably, Harvard University in Cambridge, MA for the Latinas Empowerment and Development Conference 2019. Through her work, Gomez has been the recipient of the 2019 Latina of the Year Award, by the National Latino Peace Officer Association, and was recently nominated for the Distinguished Alumni Award by the UOP Leadership Impact Committee for her using her education to excel professionally, provide inspirational leadership to others and service to the community. She has been featured in LatinaStyle Magazine and Digital Business Women Magazine; and has been interviewed on many podcasts focused on Latina empowerment such as Her Dinero Matters, Ellas the Podcast, and Afro LAWtina.
Gomez currently works as a sales professional within the supply chain industry, while building and expanding her coaching and speaking services concurrently. She’s able to manage both her professional and business roles effectively, as her clients have shared positive results and reviews from their experience in working with her.
Gomez was born and raised in Southern California. Her mother immigrated from Guayaquil, Ecuador and her father is Mexican-American. She grew up in a large family by a strong pack of Latina women. She is a first-generation college graduate. She completed her degrees while holding down full-time jobs, getting married and becoming a mother. Gomez now lives in Moreno Valley, CA with her husband of 15 years and her two young daughters. Her story of perseverance and hard work is an inspiration to other Latinas who feel unsure of their ambitions and unsupported in their goals.
